There is little known about the origins of this Banksy Graffiti Removal Hotline piece, but it is a fascinating print nevertheless. When Banksy first started doing his work in Bristol, the council set about painting over all of his art since they believed that it was merely an act of vandalism. However, after asking the public whether the graffiti should be kept, the council found that over 97% of people asked were against removing the pieces so the council kept them. Ironically, the council then began to protect the graffiti from defacement by others.
