Available as a framed box Canvas Print
During the time the wall across Berlin was standing and which separated east from west, it attracted no end of graffiti. This Berlin Wall graffiti canvas print preserves what we think is perhaps some of the finest graffiti ever produced on the wall. Of course, much of the wall has now gone but some of it still remains as a permanent reminder of the oppression towards the eastern side of Germany and those who lost their lives trying to escape over or under the wall from east to west. The graffiti here is by an unknown artist but the sheer scale and intricacy of it is quite breathtaking. This canvas print captures only a part of the graffiti piece but we think it carries its essence and conveys the detail and painstaking work that would have gone in to creating it.
- The Berlin Wall was the largest canvas for graffiti in the world, approximately 100 miles in length
- All of the graffiti was daubed on the west side of the wall. On the east side it was impossible for anyone to get close enough to it
- By the time the wall came down it was entirely covered with graffiti on the west side
- Much of the controversial artwork has been removed following the dismantling of the majority of the wall
